MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES FOR PEOPLE OF ALL AGES AND ABILITIES
Welcome to Supportive Steps! Mental health can be an isolating and individual struggle. No one person will face the same problems you do, or shoulder the same burdens. Reaching resilience and stability isn’t a one-size fits all solution, but rather a process that will take time, patience, and courage. You will not have to go through it alone, however. I will work with you on an individualized plan that helps support you or your child on your path to recovery and mental strength.
Every journey begins with a single step. This can be yours.
CHILDREN / TEENS
Growing up brings its own unique stressors, from navigating social groups and new responsibilities to bullying, family conflict and surfacing trauma from abuse or neglect. This is the time when issues with ADHD, self-esteem, self-regulation and depression or anxiety begin appearing. I can help through age-appropriate and nonjudgmental approaches such as mindfulness, music, and play therapy.
ADULTS
This moment in time is overwhelming for so many people. Between work piling up, the feeling of not being able to go on, struggling with recent or past traumas, and anxiety or anger – you don’t have to face it all on your own.

Frequently Asked Questions
When we are not aware of our thoughts, feelings, motives and behaviours, the more they control us. Therapy helps people understand their “stories”; the experiences that have shaped them, their protectors that helped them get through challenges and the patterns or habits that are now preventing them from living the way they would like. It is an exploration where the therapist walks alongside the person helping them to unscramble and make sense of the information they share.

At your first session we will begin to explore your life. We will explore things such as your challenges, history, family history, coping skills and strengths. Everyone’s journey is different. Some people may reach their established goals within only a few sessions while others may be working on recurring life patterns or traumatic events which may benefit from more long-term support.
