Depression Treatment

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

If you struggle with overwhelming levels of emotion, or fall into patterns of behaviour you have difficulty controlling on your own, finding any kind of balance might seem impossible. DBT is built as an answer to this, focusing on the development of healthy coping mechanisms, mindfulness, emotional regulation and the improvement of communication skills. By increasing your tolerance of negative emotion and embracing acceptance and change, you can move away from an either-or mindset and into a more fluid and adaptable one. DBT is useful in treating mood disorders and suicidal ideation, and can also help with behavioural patterns such as self-harm and substance use.
