Our Services

Supportive Steps offers a number of treatments, tailored for and accessible to all ages of patients. No matter the struggles you or your child are facing, there is a path forward towards a better tomorrow for you.

Children/Teens

I guide children and teens in exploring their emotions and memories in a safe and supportive environment through expressive therapeutic methods such as play therapy and sand tray therapy. All the while, they’re building a foundation of mindfulness and awareness of who they are and who they would like to become to help them later in life.

Adults

Modern life is more stressful than it has ever been,  I struggling to keep up with it is a steadily more common experience. With Supportive Steps’ client-focused approach, every person is different so our approach is tailored to each individual. The methods to help them may differ, but the end result is always to give them the tools to reach resilience and mental strength.

PTSD and Trauma Treatment

PTSD and Trauma Treatment

Trauma can leave lasting scars that have an impact on daily life, even turning into PTSD. These experiences don’t have to be left to linger. EMDR has proven to be highly effective at rewriting these traumatic memories, taking away their sting, and other methods including Neurofeedback can augment this.

Anxiety Treatment

Anxiety Treatment

Anxiety thrives on fear and what-ifs that then paralyze you with stress, making already tense and challenging situations worse. Managing it involves uncovering the distorted patterns of thought that cause the anxiety in the first place and slowly reducing the stress levels to a functional amount through such methods as mindfulness, CBT, EMDR or Neurofeedback.

Anger Management

Struggling with anger can be an overwhelming and explosive experience, with an impact on your career, your relationships and even your health. It doesn’t have to be. Therapy through CBT, DBT, sand tray and music therapy are all beneficial, and can help you understand your triggers, learn tolerance, and regulate your emotions over time.

Self-Regulation

Self-Regulation

If you’ve experienced panic attacks, anxiety attacks or the need to withdraw from your daily routine, these are all signs of trauma. Trauma responses are rooted in an inability to complete the fight/flight/freeze reaction to a life-threatening event. Self-regulation therapy reduces these responses by allowing you to complete the fight/flight/freeze reaction in a safe space, forging new neural pathways for the next time you encounter the same stress.

Therapy such as Sandtray and CBT have been proven to help us cope better with these everyday stresses.

FAQ

When we are not aware of our thoughts, feelings, motives and behaviors, the more they control us. Therapy helps people understand their “stories”; the experiences that have shaped them, their protectors that helped them get through challenges and the patterns or habits that are now preventing them from living the way they would like. It is an exploration where the therapist walks alongside the person helping them to unscramble and make sense of the information they share.
